A Ragtag Band of Believers

Today as we continued our training, it was fun to see our group come together. It seems everyone naturally has a role they can fill that will make us a very well-rounded team. We've got introverts, extroverts, list makers, free spirits, musicians, artists, writers, thinkers, doers.

The one thing we all seem to have in common, however, is that we all are admittedly broken vessels who desire nothing more for the next three weeks than to follow God's call to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. Actually, this reminds me a lot of the Apostles -- A thought that fills me with a wonderful sense of boldness.

We had an opportunity to do a prayer walk in the community, which is something I think I should do more often. God seems to talk to me most when I'm being quiet and observing my surroundings. I'm going to try some new ideas regarding prayer this trip, too.

To all my Mennonite brothers and sisters who are reading this, I've got great news: We will be introducing Dutch Blitz to the students at the camp! And not just any Dutch Blitz -- GIANT SIZE TEAM DUTCH BLITZ! We spent a few hours tonight cutting the large poster board and drawing numbers and pictures. This should truly be epic.

Tomorrow we will finish our training by noon and head to the airport shortly after lunch. Your continued prayers will be appreciated as we continue to gel as a group and travel.
